Lend a Hand Not a Finger

Everyone makes mistakes, everyone!  This is part of being human.
Children are no different, whether little, teenagers or adults.  Afterall, we are all someones child.
I am almost 52, and I still make my fair share of blunders.   No person alive or dead has been immune to a lapse in judgment, other than our Lord, and He has pretty big shoes to fill!
I become very disconcerted when I hear of people bashing others over mistakes they have made or even continue to make.  It's easy to point our finger at someone else.  I have been guilty of it myself on occassion.  However, if YOU feel the need to point out the flaws in someone, then YOU better damn well stay and help them find a solution!
When someone has dug themselves into a deep hole, because of carelessness or just plain stupidity, the last thing they need is someone standing at the top of that hole pointing their finger, telling them what an idiot they are!  Newsflash!  They already know, and YOU are NOT helping!  YOU might as well be throwing rocks at the person sitting down there in despair.  They certainly aren't listening to YOU when their hands are trying to protect their head.
If YOU fnd yourself at the top of one of these holes, instead of looking down and clucking your tongue in disgust, bend down and put your hands out and help them up and out of their dungeon.
I have seen videos of whales that have beached themselves and hundreds of people work tirelessly for hours, pouring water over it every minute, for hours on end to keep it alive, while others push and pull to turn the wayward fish back toward the ocean.   Sometimes, they succeed only to have the confused whale beach itself yet again.  Nowhere in these videos have I ever seen people pointing their finger and telling the whale how foolish it is!  No, they get back in the water and begin again.
Now, back to the person, sitting at the bottom of the hole no less lost than the beached whale.  Yet, there is no group of concerned citizens there with shovels digging that person out, working just as desperately to save him or her.  Is the worth of a whale more than that of a person?  No!
We need to stop judging each other.  Who knows, maybe YOU are only steps away from being in the same place!
All animals are born with the capacity to love and share, but I believe, only humans actually forgive and empathize with each other and other species.  We may not understand what someone is experiencing but we have keen communication skills.  We can talk, but better yet, we can listen.  Sometimes all a person needs to hear is they are not alone, and that there is hope and with all of the resources available, there IS help available.   Maybe YOU are THE only person to show them the way out of that hole.
Remember, one day it might be YOU at the bottom of that hole.
     Jesus said it best, in
John 8:7 "Let he that is without sin, cast the first stone"!
