A Sweep Of Red!

I stayed up late last night, watching the  American election coverage on CNN.
By 1:25 am, Donald Trump was leading Hilary Clinton, in votes.  The electoral map was definitely red, for the Republican vote.
As the evening began, the Clinton headquarters were jovial, excited, and waving her banners.  Their energy was palpable for sure.  By 9:30 pm, their party attitude had significantly quieted.
CNN had a panel of political big wigs, the who's who of each party.  The reactions from Clinton supporters were simply speaking, stunned.   Nobody, including the broadcasting corospondents could comprehend what was happening.
As I watched and listened, I couldn't help but laugh.  All of the polls predicted a Democratic landslide, and it was anything but.  Every time,  CNN showed the electoral map, there was more theorizing on who would win, and when it was clear Donald Trump was going to win, the corospondents seemed to be in a total tailspin.   His winning was surprising, so consequently, they didnt know what to say or do.  Clearly,  it was not part of their script.
There were interviews of Clinton supporters, bashing Trump supporters who had cast their ballots.  They were calling them stupid, uneducated, inbred halfwits.  I was shocked, listening to this.
The United States of America, has run on a democracy.  Presidents are voted into power, not selected into power.  Love him or hate him, the race for president is dependent upon the people.
A president elect will make 100 %of the people happy, 50% when they arrive, and 50% when they leave.  The point is, everyone will not be a fan of whomever is elected.
By 2 am, when Clinton's representative told her supporters to go home, and she  refused to come out and make a speech, it was all over.
It was sad that she couldn't come out to face her supporters and thank them for all of their hard work and dedication.  I thought it would have been gracious of her to tell the people to stand together and be unified as a country.  I am sure she was upset and discouraged.
The United States of America has voted in a new president,  his name is Donald Trump.  People love to hate him.  He's rude, he's brash and he says what he feels.
The American people have spoken,  they want change.  I pray he is the change they are looking for.  May God bless the USA!
