A Kind of Monday Love

Happy Monday!  I love Mondays!  I realize I am in the minority as far as  Monday Love.
Friday, or Saturday  always seems to be the two favorite days of the week.  For those on a 5 day work week from Monday to Friday  I understand the need for much needed rest and relaxation,  or just a change of pace.
However, this total disdain for Monday ?  Well, it's just not fair.  Fairness a side, it is probably the least favored day of the week.      There are songs written about Monday.  Monday Monday, part of these lyrics say "Monday, Monday cant trust that day"  Wow, strong words for the second day of the week!  Then theres the song  I don't like Mondays, a song from the early 80's about a teenage girl who went to school and shot her classmates, and when asked why she did it she replied "I don't like Mondays"!  Yikes!  I'm not fond of washing dishes so I think I should load up the Smith and Wesson! Let's not forget Rainy Days and Monday a song by the Carpenters that was popular in the 70's.  There are probably more songs that bash my Monday love but that's enough hate for one day!
On Sunday afternoons, you can see a big angry looking storm cloud heading your way, it isn't an impending shower, (input symbol clasp here) it's Monday!  People try to hide from it, even ignore it, "If I don't see it, it's not there" mentality.  Oh, but it's
coming everyone!  Gathering strength and momentum with each passing minute! You can run and hide from Monday but it always manages to find you!
To me, Monday is like a puppy that hasn't seen you in well, a whole week.  Like a puppy, it too is anxious to see you and jumps on you, sometimes knocks you down, and while trying to kiss you, it accidentally nips your lip a wee bit with all its enthusiasm.  It isn't trying to hurt you, it's just so happy to see you!  Unlike it's cool brother Friday, that I compare to a spoiled celebrity.  Everyone loves it!  Can't wait to see it, makes plans with it, and Friday doesn't care!  It doesn't love you like Monday does.  No, Friday is only there to fulfil it's calendar obligation.
Mondays have an undeserved bad rap!  Mondays are lovely, full of promise and hope!  A full week to come, and for many the beginning of a work week of tedium and boredom, but it shouldn't be!  No, it should be a day of making plans, and implementing them, a day for inspiration and holding your head high!  Monday means VICTORY!  Let's forget about the middle finger salute, raise your index finger and give the VICTORY sign instead!  Hey, Richard Nixon wasn't wrong about that!
It's time to throw your Monday trepidation away and replace it with love!   Embrace this second day of the week!  Forget about the other day!  It's like a hangover in disguise!
So, here is to hope, dreams and a fantastic week!  Here is to Monday!
